Coursebank Launches Future Skills Academy (FSA) and Soft Skills Academy (SSA): Empowering Filipinos for the Digital Workplace

FSA is designed to empower individuals from all agencies across the Philippines with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the ever-changing technological landscape and excel in the digital workplace. On the other hand, SSA equips individuals from all agencies nationwide with indispensable soft skills, enabling them to communicate, collaborate, and lead effectively in dynamic and diverse workplaces. These innovative tracks aim to provide Filipinos with the holistic skill sets necessary to thrive in today’s professional landscape and shape a successful future.

FSA Overview 

The primary goal of this learning track is to equip individuals from various agencies, both local and national, with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape. It aims to ensure that everyone reaches a conversant level in the technologies that are shaping our world today and in the foreseeable future. Additionally, FSA seeks to provide individuals with a basic level of proficiency in digital skills that are essential in the current workplace.   

Objective 1: Attain Conversant Level in Emerging Technologies 

In FSA, participants will be exposed to a range of cutting-edge technologies that have a significant impact on society, government, and the economy. The objective is to familiarize individuals with these technologies, enabling them to understand their applications, potential benefits, and societal implications. The curriculum will cover areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and other emerging fields. By gaining a conversant level of understanding, participants will be better prepared to leverage these technologies in their work and contribute to informed decision-making processes. 

Objective 2: Develop Basic Proficiency in Digital Skills 

In today’s digital era, proficiency in digital skills is crucial for individuals across all agencies and job roles. This learning track will focus on equipping participants with fundamental digital skills required in the modern workplace. It will cover areas such as computer literacy, digital communication, data management, information security, online collaboration tools, and digital productivity applications. Participants will gain hands-on experience with commonly used software, platforms, and tools to enhance their productivity and efficiency in various work settings. 

FSA is designed to accommodate individuals with varying levels of technical proficiency, ensuring that participants can progress from foundational concepts to more advanced topics at their own pace. Ultimately, the aim is to foster a digitally literate workforce capable of leveraging technology for the betterment of agencies, communities, and the nation as a whole.

Soft Skills Academy

SSA Overview  

This learning track is designed to equip individuals from diverse agencies, both local and national, with essential soft skills necessary for success in the contemporary workplace. The primary objectives of this track are to develop effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, as well as foster adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving capabilities. 

Objective 1: Develop Essential Soft Skills 

Participants in this learning track will focus on honing their soft skills, which are critical for building positive relationships, fostering effective teamwork, and driving productivity. Key areas of focus include communication skills, both verbal and written, active listening, empathy, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.  

Objective 2: Foster Adaptability and Problem-Solving 

In today’s fast-paced and dynamic work environments, adaptability and problem-solving skills are crucial. SSA will provide participants with tools and strategies to navigate change, embrace innovation, and effectively solve complex problems. Participants will learn techniques for critical thinking, decision-making, creativity, and innovation. They will also develop skills in managing ambiguity, handling unexpected challenges, and continuously learning and adapting in evolving work contexts. 

SSA is tailored to meet the needs of individuals at different stages of their professional development, allowing participants to progress from foundational skills to advanced techniques. Ultimately, the aim is to cultivate a workforce that excels in interpersonal interactions, embraces challenges, and contributes to a positive and productive work culture across agencies, at both local and national levels.
